Department Name/Job Location This position is in the Department of Radiation Oncology Physics Division. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Essential Functions POSITION SUMMARY: Position is responsible for assisting clinical physics faculty with non-critical routine duties and developmental efforts. In all cases, the individual will train and work under the supervision of a Qualified Medical Physicist (QMP). PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Performs daily, weekly and monthly quality assurance checks under direction of clinical physicist. This includes performing annual machine calibrations and/or annual simulator reviews. 2. Assists with implementation of new therapeutic treatment procedures. Acquires data used for implementing new clinical physics procedures. Performs treatment planning for new procedures. 3. Performs ion chamber, film and TLD measurements for patient dosimetry and/or to validate treatment planning systems. Performs special and film dosimetry in phantom with use of ionization chambers. 4. Acquires data used for commissioning treatment planning systems. Plans treatment of patients as required for the purposes of comparing to measured data procedures. Performs measurements using water scanning systems and film dosimetry systems procedures. Transfers measured data and calculated data and performs quantitative comparisons procedures. 5. Performs patient IMRT quality assurance measurements. Performs measurements in phantom using film and ionization chambers for the purpose of treatment plan dose verification. Required Qualifications * Bachelors degree in Physics or related science degree is required. * 1 year of experience in dosimetric measurements in clinical radiation oncology setting preferred. Preferred Qualifications * Must be able to demonstrate analytical reasoning. * Must be able to perform mathematical computations. Salary Range The hiring range for this position is $79,726 - $101,670 annually.
