Department Name/Job Location This position is in the Department of Neurology. The position is located at Mid Campus Center. This position is for the Medical School Campus. Essential Functions POSITION SUMMARY: Position will provide support for various patient accounts functions. Support includes Special Billing Follow Up, Appeals Follow Up, Epic Charge Review, Out of State Credentialing follow up. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Special Billing Follow Up. 2. Assist appeals unit with various MTC requests using multiple electronic health record systems. Perform follow up duties for specific appealed claims and appeals pending invoices. 3. Epic Charge Entry. Epic Billing Edits. 4. Assist various patient accounts team members with claims edits. 5. Act as back up for coders, appeals analysts & various positions during peak vacation times, staff shortages, etc. 6. Miscellaneous duties as assigned. Required Qualifications * Equivalent of High School diploma with 3 to 5 years of previous billing or insurance experience required. * 2 years of college or business school preferred. Preferred Qualifications * Attention to detail and good organization skills. * The ability to work well independently with limited supervision. * Excellent communications skills both verbal and written. * Working knowledge of electronic health system, medical billing system, CPT & ICD-10 coding. Salary Range The hiring range for this position is $18.45 - $23.06 per hour.
