    Part time Program Coordinator Parkridge (Default Section) Posting Number: 0602521 Position Title: Part time Program Coordinator Parkridge Position is: New/Exper Position Type: Staff Position (Full Time/Part Time) Department/Ofc.: Workforce Development Position Description: This is an outside funded position and shall not continue beyond the life of such funding. No continuing employment rights are inferred. Position Summary: Responsible for the supervision and coordination of day-to-day operations of afterschool outreach programs, including contractors as well as employees. Lead in the development and planning of all academic programs. Direct and coordinate the implementation of Parkridge Afterschool academic programing. Afternoon program director manages programs outside of school hours for children. The program may be sponsored by the school district, a church or a nonprofit organization, but program directors generally work closely with day schools to provide and enriching and educationally sound experience. Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise employees, students, interns, contractors and volunteers providing educational programs afterschool as well as during the summer session. Act as Liaison with teachers, principals and parents of students participating in programs or are being recruited, for the program. Assists in promoting the afterschool program in order to help increase participation. Organize program logistics and oversee the execution of after school academic programs, such as schedules, lesson plan collection, space, supply requests, and other programming needs. Maintain an inclusive classroom with regards, cultural, developmental and socioeconomic background of children Research, gather and prepare materials necessary for implementing a creative curriculum program including grant writing and resource development. Plan and execute two hour weekly session for youth. Regular attendance is required for this position. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Bachelors degree; child development family studies, early childhood, special education, elementary or secondary education. Certified Teacher. At least three (3) year experience working with at risk school aged youth outside of a traditional school setting. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and communication skills, flexibility, and an ability to work in a team setting. Demonstrated ability to appropriately handle confidential matters/materials Demonstrated knowledge of Parkridge and our programs. Demonstrated knowledge of Ypsilanti Community Schools. Demonstrated ability to work with K-12 students. Preferred Qualifications: Additional Preferred Qualifications: Masters; child development family studies, early childhood, special education, elementary or secondary education.
