Date: June 22, 2018 TITLE OF POSITION/RANK:Program Administrator (ESOL-WEOC) DEPARTMENT/DIVISION:Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC) Yonkers, NY RESPONSIBILITIES: The SUNY Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC), a division of Westchester Community College, is seeking a highly motivated, innovative and energetic professional to join its team. Located in downtown Yonkers, NY, this non-traditional performance-driven institution provides tuition-free academic and vocational training to eligible underserved adults preparing for college and/or seeking career-oriented employment. Under the direction and supervision of the WEOC Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, the Program Administrator is the academic leader of the ESOL program and is responsible for the functions of the department, day and evenings, during all academic sessions, including, but are not limited to: the overall management and coordination of all functions of the ESOL program; conducting interviews with prospective students, utilizing tests and other records pertaining to student enrollment in the program; coordinating and overseeing the supervision of faculty and development activities; scheduling and evaluating faculty; supervising the instructional program; monitoring of performance outcomes of students; preparing reports; and other duties, as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Bachelors Degree and three years of experience in the field of education or educational administration required. Supervisory experience required. Thorough knowledge of teaching methods and techniques, experience teaching, and TESOL certification strongly preferred. S/he must have successful experience working with adult, non-traditional learning populations. Candidates with good knowledge of the fundamentals and administrative procedures of educational programs, with the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students and faculty and members preferred. Good judgment; initiative in the formulation of new methods and materials; resourcefulness; integrity; and physical condition commensurate with the duties of the position. SALARY & BENEFITS:The minimum starting salary is $73,383 plus competitive benefits. This position is fully grant funded. POSITION EFFECTIVE:The position will remain open until filled.
