Teacher Success (TS) Supervisors play a critical role in the Teacher Success (TS) Team by supporting, training and overseeing their team made up of TS Sr. Coordinators, TS Coordinators, and Cohort Facilitators (CF) by taking assigned projects, tasks, and instructions from the TPS Sr. Manager and delegating those duties throughout the team based on individual skills and workflow. TS Supervisors manage and support a high-functioning team of problem-solving professionals who are crucial to student success during the candidates’ field experiences and the related performance assessments.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
- Managing within the TS team at the initial level and acting as a bridge between the TS Coordinators & Cohort Facilitators (individual contributors) and the Senior Manager, Field Experience.
- Providing high-level support and consultation regarding escalated field concerns, student issues and communications to and from the Sr. Manager and other management from other departments.
- Hiring, managing and directing TS Coordinators & TS Cohort Facilitators by providing and overseeing regular training/coaching, supervision, performance reviews and support.
- Managing and supervising clinical supervisors and host teachers by providing and overseeing regular training, communication outreach, evaluation and support.
- Supervising and advising all other TS team members who work closely with all field experience stakeholders to support any concerns during field experiences.
- Creating and implementing programs and processes through whole-team collaboration to better support teacher candidates, clinical supervisors, host teachers and cohort facilitators during field experiences.
- Overseeing, advising, and delegating training and communication with mentors and other departments regarding field experiences and dispositions.
- Managing long-term team projects that ultimately support stakeholders.
- Supervising and regulating those who review and maintain all resource documents and sites pertaining to field experiences.
- Working closely with the Field Placement team to implement and maintain consistent communications and policies with outside stakeholders.
- Directing TS Coordinators and TS Cohort Facilitators in working with teacher candidates to support completion of the required performance assessments related to field experiences.
- Updating and implementing related courses of study, and serving as subject matter experts and writers for projects.
- Working closely with the Accreditation and Compliance Team to understand state specific support and reporting requirements.
- Delegating and supervising responsibilities and duties associated with state specific support and reporting requirements.
- Collaborating with State WGU Colleges to engage in K-12 partnership development, guidance and support.
- Meeting in person with K-12 partners as needed to strengthen relationships and enhance programs.
- As necessary, working with underrepresented and underserved communities to support equity and access to strong K-12 and teacher education for their members.

- Must be technologically competent with data entry, Outlook email and calendar, MS Office, and database, or equivalent experience (SalesForce)
- Must keep abreast of the current research in education
- Must be knowledgeable about multiple theories of teaching
- Must have the ability to conduct research and draw valid conclusions
- Able to exercise good judgment and effectively organize, prioritize, and perform multiple job functions.
- Establishes team plans and priorities in support of pre-determined functional goals of the TPS team and Field Experiences as a whole.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and accurately
- Has a solid understanding of WGU Teachers College programs, policies, and procedures as well as the TPS team’s purpose, objectives, and operation.
- Provides accurate information and high quality customer service at all times
- Establishes effective working relationships with prospective students, current students, pending graduates, mentors, and fellow employees
- Understands the requirements of licensing/certification bodies and be able to communicate them accordingly
- Applies university policies and procedures equitably while developing creative solutions to solve issues

Required Experience
- Master’s degree in education related field
- 5 years (minimum) of licensed/certified, K-12 teaching experience
- 3-5 years demonstrated people leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with edTPA and/or MoPTA
- Master teacher
- Experience with Secondary grade levels and content areas
- Experience with and/or certifications in: Special Education, English Language Learning, and/or Education Leadership
Special Position Requirements
- 5% travel requirement
- May be required to make site visits locally to K-12 partners
- Occasional evening and weekend work required
