Supervision Exercised: none Salary: $40,000 - $44,000 General Statement of Duties: The position coordinates all activities of the hiring process, delivers training to hiring managers and search committees related to the hiring process; posts and advertises university positions; serves as a resource to search committees regarding hiring policy and procedures; coordinates and/or facilitates learning and development opportunities for employees; manages updates to human resources guides and documents; manages training logistics and maintains records of training activities and program effectiveness. Duties and Responsibilities: Essential: Duties include but not limited to: Responsible for the coordination of on-line hiring systems functions, including advertising and posting vacancies, reviewing job descriptions and requisitions for accuracy, approving and monitoring user accounts and access. Trains and assists university staff in hiring procedures and Interview Exchange applicant tracking system as related to the hiring process; may assist departments and search committees in developing and implementing advertising and recruitment strategies. Assists Department Heads and Chairs in the development of position descriptions. Continually explores a variety of recruiting options, analyzes data to determine relative effectiveness of various recruiting strategies, and recommends targeted recruiting plans to increase pool of qualified diverse candidates for each vacancy. Works with job candidates and other human resource staff in support of hiring needs. Compiles data for use in reports and statistical analyses related to the hiring process. Interprets, advises, and answers questions related to Human Resource policies and hiring practices, and procedures. Coordinates campus Employee Learning and Development programs in alignment with University strategic priorities; manages training logistics and maintains records of training activities. Assesses HR learning and development programs and maintains records of program effectiveness. May deliver standardized training for employees to improve their skills and knowledge. Updates human resources guides and policies as needed. Coordinates distribution of the Conflict of Interest Summary to employees; track acknowledgment of the summary and certification of completion for the online employee Conflict of Interest training to ensure compliance. Provides effective and efficient customer service. Other duties as assigned and deemed appropriate. Non-Essential: Assists other Human Resources staff to achieve departmental goals and objectives. Requirements: Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience, preferably in human resources or a related field; HR certification preferred (SHRM-CP or PHR). Three years of human resources experience preferred, preferably including experience with employee learning and development and/or recruitment/talent acquisition. Higher Education Human Resources experience with HR technical experience preferred. Cultural competency to work with diverse student and/or employee population. Ability to use technology tools along with strong interpersonal skills is required to work with hiring managers and to coordinate a variety of learning and development workshops.
