    Position Announcement:

    Annual Fund and Alumni Engagement Coordinator

    Under the supervision of the Director of Alumni Engagement, the Annual Fund and Alumni Engagement Coordinator is responsible for coordinating alumni engagement campaigns to support the College’s annual fund and alumni engagement goals through direct mail, social media, special events and other channels. A primary focus of this position is to coordinate events, segmented campaigns, write materials and develop plans to increase ROI of fundraising initiatives. This is a full time, exempt and benefits eligible position.

    Essential Functions:

    Plan, write and edit content for distribution through the following development channels, including but not limited to:

    Fundraising appeals for segmented audiences

    Fundraising collateral materials

    Development blogs

    Proposals

    Presentations

    Website

    Social media channels

    Internal and external communications to enhance culture of philanthropy with various audiences

    Content to support alumni engagement

    Support the Director of Alumni Engagement in implementing special events and outreach campaigns by performing tasks such as tracking event attendance in Raiser’s Edge, producing nametags and managing logistical and administrative tasks of event execution.

    Work with internal and external print vendors; development and marketing team; Budget Office and others to coordinate segmented direct mail and outreach campaigns.

    Work with Director of Web and Social Media to plan, implement and measure fundraising and alumni engagement social media campaigns.

    Work with Media & Content Strategist to identify interesting alumni stories.

    Work with Director of Alumni Engagement to coordinate special events and meet event attendance goals.

    Conduct research on college history to support stories, news releases and other content.

    Establish timelines to complete the collection of relevant data/information for proposal content, internal routing and approvals, and submission to appropriate parties

    Coordinate with the Director of Digital Media to gather interesting visuals to support content.

    Write thank you letters, notes and other expressions of stewardship. Utilize Raiser’s Edge system to track and analyze all outreach efforts.

    Research potential opportunities for foundation and grant support from local and national funding sources and write proposals.

    Job Requirements:

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing or related field.

    Experience: At least two years of marketing and communications experience in a higher education or nonprofit development office.

    Skills:

    Excellent writing, copy-writing and editing skills.

    Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities.

    A creative eye and ability to tailor content across different digital and social media platforms.

    Collaborative spirit and ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

    Ability to learn how to utilize digital marketing tools and communications channels.

    Ability to work on a broad range of communication vehicles, multi-task, meet deadlines under pressure and work independently;

    Demonstrated knowledge of communication practices and techniques, including developing communications for diverse audiences;

    Demonstrated prior experience in grant writing, message development, communications plan development and project planning;

    Preferred Skills/Ability to Learn: Digital and social media tools, WordPress and other marketing software that supports fundraising content.
