The Department of History at Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri, seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in World History at the Assistant Professor level commencing in Fall 2021. As we are a very small department, flexibility and the ability to teach a diverse range of courses is a requirement of this position. These upper-level courses should be transnational and interdisciplinary in scope. Preference will be given to applicants who can also contribute to our Museum Studies program and who can also teach occasional U.S. History survey courses.

While we value and support faculty research, we are very student-centered and pride ourselves on our high-impact learning environment. Therefore, demonstrated experience, passion, and innovation in the classroom is a must for our department. In addition to classroom teaching, the successful applicant will be expected to provide the following: guidance of undergraduate theses, frequent travel-study courses, rigorous academic and career advising, internship supervision, and taking students to academic conferences. The teaching load is 4-4 with an expectation of service and scholarly research per the Westminster College Faculty Handbook.
