The Principal Faculty will report directly to the Chair / Program Director, and provide support in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the PA program’s curriculum.
Teaching: • Developing, reviewing, and revising as necessary the mission statement, goals, and competencies of the program • Selecting applicants for admission to the PA Program • Providing Student Instruction • Evaluating student performance • Academic counseling of students • Assuring the availability of remedial instruction • Designing and delivering course material during the didactic phase of the program • Performs other related duties as assigned. Research: • Scholarly publications and research design related to teaching, PA education and the PA profession. Academic Service: • Serves on PA Program Committees, Ad-hoc meetings, commencement, convocation, and community service for the PA program Clinical: • Clinical Release for PA clinical practice for the maintenance of NCCP certification and state licensure, clinical development as faculty, and compliance with ARC-PA Standards

Required Experience
• Relevant Master’s Degree in a science and/or health-related area from an accredited institution • Experience in undergraduate and/or graduate education • Experience in programmatic assessment and evaluation • Preferences: Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), Tennessee medical License or be eligible to apply for a Tennessee medical license, Experience in PA education
