  • Responsibilities

    This position works under the supervision of the Director of the B.R.I.D.G.E for Success program. The Career Counselor will work with an assigned middle or high school to support the college and career and workforce goals of the B.R.I.D.G.E program participants.

     

    • Manages and oversees college and career and professional development pathway for the B.R.I.D.G.E for Success Program participants. • Collaborate with the Family Champion, to create clear and concise goals. • Meets with families and creates Career Path Plans. Checks in monthly with participant’s progress. • Compiles and generates monthly, quarterly, and annual reports regarding program participants. • Maintains database for evaluations. • Facilitates college and career B.R.I.D.G.E. activities. • Links parents with career and professional development opportunities. • Collaborates with community entities to provide resources for job advancement and security and provide resources, as needed or requested by families. • Provides support to community partners and participating schools. • Assists in removing barriers that hinder parent’s ability to secure stable job placement. • Analyzes program, administers assessments, develops program plans and evaluates effectiveness of resources and overall program initiatives. • Works closely with Family Champion to ensure that participants are following work plans and meeting B.R.I.D.G.E. goals. • Provides feedback reports to program families/participants. • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • Interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships and to project a professional and positive image of the Institution. • Ability to handle confidential and highly sensitive information with a high degree of tact and diplomacy. • Computer literate (i.e., software programs, Internet, email, etc.). • Skill in creating and utilizing data spreadsheets. • Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities. • Ability to develop and maintain record keeping systems and procedures. • Excellent community relations.

    Required Experience

    Master’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of three (3) years related experience required.
