  • Responsibilities

    MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Oversee the operations of the warehouse and dispatch office during the overnight shift.

     SHIFT: 11:00 pm - 7:30 am Sunday - Thursday

    •  Enters or updates orders in company operating system
    • Monitors dispatch area
    • Move materials within the warehouse
    • Sort parcels for route vehicles
    • Load and unload trucks and vans
    • Complies with all safety requirements
    • Electronically scan products using a warehouse management system
    • Ensure damaged products are identified and removed when received
    • Answers incoming phone lines when needed
    • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and a variety of warehouse mechanical equipment (where applicable)
    • Load Balancing and Planning
    • Oversee sorting, distribution and loading
    • Track & dispatch (customer) shipments across the company's service area
    • Daily emphasis on fostering and maintaining BOTH customer and driver relations
    • Resolve transportation issues with professionalism and urgency
    • Ensure customer and driver information is accurately updated within the company's delivery management system

     

    Required Skills

    MATERIAL HANDLING:  Must be able to operate stand up and sit down forklifts, clamp trucks, etc. in a safe manner without damaging facilities, incoming materials or outgoing product.

     

    REASONING:  Apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in or from standardized situations.

     

    MATHEMATICS:  Able to use arithmetic to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals and percentages. Must be adept at weights and measures.

     

    LANGUAGE:  Reading – Able to follow work instructions and recognize most words used in daily work processes. Able to read instructions for assembling equipment. Able to communicate through writing compound and complex sentences, using proper punctuation and employing adjectives and adverbs.

     

    COMPUTER:  Able to operate a computer at a basic to intermediate level.

     

    TEAMWORK:  Must be able to work independently and/or as part of a team.
