    Job Title: -Human Resources Assistant - Part Time (20 hours) -Req: -NE18-0022 -Department: -Office of Human Resources -Position Type: -Support Staff (Non-Exempt) -Posting Close Date: -Job Description: -Widener University Human Resources Department is seeking a part-time Human Resources Assistant. Under general supervision, this part-time, twenty (20) hour per week Human Resources Assistant will provide front desk and secretarial support in support of the Human Resources functions such as talent acquisition, benefits, compensation, employee relations and HRIS. Reporting to the Director, this role will also maintain and ensure compliance of department records; assists in compiling reports and assist with assigned projects and/or program components. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (include but are not limited to) Essential Duties -Serve as first point of contact for staff, and visitors who come to HR. -Provide front desk coverage: answer telephone and handle walk-in inquiries -Maintain confidential personnel staff and benefit files on real-time, continual, on-going basis -Open all mail, verify completeness and accuracy of forms and distribute accordingly. -Respond to routine inquiries regarding human resources policies, procedures and programs. -Produce Human Resources correspondence and maintain several HR databases as directed. -Assist in compilation of data for annualized HRMS, compensation, benefits and recruitment reporting -Assist employees in completing human resources forms and transactions -Provide backup to HR Coordinators and Benefits Assistant, as needed, for the maintenance of HRIS files and coordination of human resources programs such as employee orientation, staff meetings, benefits open enrollment, employee awards and service recognition. Secondary Responsibilities: -Conference Room Scheduling -Employee verifications -Maintain office environment -Other duties as assigned -Job Qualifications: -MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: (Education/Training and Experience Required): Required -Two (2+) years' experience in a customer-facing support role -High School diploma or equivalent -Demonstrated excellence in Microsoft office suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook) and use of Internet for professional purposes -Working knowledge of database applications -Strong communication skills (verbal and written) -Focused on quality and strong attention to detail -Excellent interpersonal skills -Previous experience working autonomously and as part of a team Preferred: -Two (2+) years' experience in Human Resources office -Higher Education experience preferred -Experience in Colleague/Datatel (or HRIS system) Physical Requirements and/or Unusual Work Hours: Must be able to sit or stand at computer for more than two (2) hours at a time; must be able to move about in office, building and across campus when necessary. Some minor lifting of up to 20lb boxes or office related items. Must be able to talk on phone, use keyboard at same time. Must be able to stand and file for multiple hours at a time.
