    DESCRIPTION

    Decypher is seeking a Clinical Behavioral Health Nurse to support at Lackland, AFB in San Antonio, TX. 

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ensure a comprehensive plan of care for the patient.
    • Technically direct and teach other staff, provide educational lectures and participate in in-service training to staff members.
    • Perform developmental assessments and screenings; conducting diagnostic and screening tests; initiating and evaluating treatment regimens that may include prescribing and dispensing medication appropriate to the privileged scope of care.
    • Communicate and collaborate with a diverse group of people for the purpose of informing the healthcare team of plans/actions, for teaching/education to benefit the patient/family and organization.
    • Recognize conditions that require isolation and ensure universal precautions are used in all patient encounters.
    • Attend staff meetings to provide case discussion, continuing education, and continuous quality improvement.
    • Develops, executes and provides ongoing monitoring of appropriate patient-specific plan of care including short- and long-term goals, objectives and actions. Coordinates and collaborates on the care plan along with the patient, family/caregiver, and healthcare team.
    • Serves as an advocate for and ensures appropriate education is provided to the patient or targeted populations for promoting adherence to treatment plans, self-care actions, and education programs.
    • Identifies, collects, monitors, interprets and evaluates measurable outcome data within established time frames according to local/AF/DoD requirements.
    • Submits reports as required per local/AF/DoD policy and guidance to be provided by the Government.
    • Has a thorough understanding of psychopharmacology and psychotropic medications, and monitors patient response to medications.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • Master’s Degree
    • Registered Nurse License
    • 2 years of recent Behavioral Health experience
    • Certified Clinical Nurse Specialist in oncology, psychiatric, cardiovascular, pulmonary etc.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Qualifications

    PCORI's Communication's team is seeking an undergraduate intern currently pursing a bachelors' degree in one of the following areas: Communications, Health Communications, Health Policy, Public Health, Digital Media, Medicine, Nursing.

    The ideal candidate will have:

    • Academic concentration in communications, journalism, English, public health, web production, design or related. Interest/course work in health field, including public health or health policy. College junior or above.
    • Excellent writing, communication and project management skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Knowledge of or interest in CMS, PhotoShop, video post-production a plus.
    • Previous communication, healthcare work experience/internships desired
