    Job Description

    ORGANIZATIONAL

    The VM1 Competitive Intelligence Team provides advertising intelligence that yields insights resulting in a marketplace advantage for the Zenith Media’s Verizon client.  Our goal is to daily deliver the most accurate, most timely and most granular competitive media spending reports & analysis in our client’s categories. 

    INDIVIDUAL

    The role of the VP, Director of Competitive Intelligence is to act as central contact for competitive media issues and to direct workflow on a global team. The position of VP, Director of Competitive Intelligence has a strong knowledge of market & industry trends and assumes a leadership position on our clients’ business. The Director of Competitive Intelligence reports to the Executive Vice President, Data and Analytics, Analytics. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    INDIVIDUAL

    • Lead the development of imaginative reports based on understanding of our clients businesses.
    • Able to think and write in a logical flow; competently present and defend analysis daily.
    • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint; open and able to learn new software and innovative ways of using old software.

    ORGANIZATIONAL

    • Can write and present research analysis and understand media strategies – both Traditional media and Digital media.
    • Interact with clients, media planning, account management and offshore teams.
    • Foster internal/agency communications and relationships.
    • Establish vendor relationships; have solid command of industry research and trends.

    TEAM

    • Train Competitive Analysts in systems and processes.
    • Delegate responsibility but maintain accountability for output of your team.
    • Inspire creativity and pro-activity of competitive staff.
    • Prioritize and manage work flow to guarantee timely delivery of projects.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • 10+ years experience in media research, planning, or account management.
    • Telco/Tech experience not necessary but would be a plus.
    • Proficient across all channels (Digital, TV, print, OOH).
    • Organized, detail oriented.  Expects excellence and accuracy.
    • Familiar with Competitive vendor processes and output.
