    The Designer will provide technical drafting and design support for various power delivery projects consisting of both substation and overhead line tasks. This role requires the ability to support multiple projects among remote offices and to prioritize work assignments. Additionally, this role requires excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. This position can be located in either Phoenixville, PA or Orlando, FL.

    Responsibilities

    • Create plan and profile, structural, and foundation drawings for overhead line projects.
    • Create sketches, layouts, plans and drawings for substation projects.
    • Work with vector and raster drawing files in AutoCAD and Microstation.
    • Utilize AutoCAD Inventor, Bentley Substation, and SOLIDWORKS to develop 3D models of substation facilities.
    • Develop, modify and review drawings according to client and/or company drafting standards.
    • Review all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting for engineering review

    Qualifications

    Education

    • 2 years’ of technical school education with CAD and structural drafting / design or equivalent or Associate's Degree in Architectural or Engineering Design Technologies.

    Required Skills and Experience

    • Demonstrated proficiency and working knowledge of the latest versions of AutoCAD and Micro Station is required.
    • Experience with 3D modeling packages is strongly preferred.

    Desired Skills and Experience

    • Four (4) or more years of structural drafting experience, including direct design and drafting work in the power delivery field involving substation and/or overhead transmission and distribution lines is strongly preferred.
