RESPONSIBILITIES OF THIS SPECIFIC ROLE WILL INCLUDE, BUT NOT BE LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:
Be a valued contributor to our major infrastructure project in San Jose CA called the BART-Silicon Valley II - a five-mile single bore tunnel and underground rail station system beneath Silicon Valley infrastructure that will connect the Bay Area Rapid Transit trains from San Jose to Santa Clara.
Join our integrated civil/structural/geotechnical engineering, design, and digital solutions teams in an energetic collaborative working environment.
Provide innovative data science and digital solutions applications for supporting our key initiatives around Digital Design Delivery and Sustainability.
Support our Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Geospatial science (GIS) teams in their development and deployment of advanced design models and as-built data platforms.
Understand keys to delivering stage specific work for best outcome at each stage of the project life cycle - planning, design, and construction phases
Implement techniques to develop, demonstrate, and validate quality work
Gain understanding of wide range of disciplines and skills within Arup, andbig-picture awareness that permeates every skill area in Arup
Gain experience in presenting ideas to project teams and internal forums
Implement best practices for client communication and engagement
QUALIFICATIONS
REQUIRED:
Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, construction management, or data sciences
Minimum of 3.0 GPA or higher
Demonstrated interest in Rail & Transit Infrastructure
Familiarity with Autodesk modeling software applications for BIM
Familiarity with advanced approaches to data science and parametric design
Interest in methods dedicated to project delivery sustainability
Ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and exceptional organization skills required for our constantly evolving environment
Strong interpersonal and communication skills essential for team-based working
Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all levels
Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future.
PREFERRED:
Proficiency with civil design and analysis tools for rail, roads, and/or water systems
Previous internship experience with design and/or engineering focus
Knowledge of methods used in machine learning and/or AI
Fluency in Build Information Modeling software
Familiarity with GIS-based software
Evidence of past internship or extracurricular activity in the field
