    Job Description

    The Assistant Custodial Services Manager supports the Custodial Services Manager in the daily operation, supervision, and leadership of EVS (Environmental Services) activities. This role ensures that cleanliness standards, safety procedures, and departmental goals are met while providing coaching and oversight to supervisors and staff. The position bridges hands‑on operational support with administrative responsibilities, maintaining guest‑ready conditions across all public areas.

    • Assist the Custodial Services Manager with the ongoing management and coordination of EVS operations.
    • Participate in the planning and implementation of weekly supervisor meetings, quarterly staff meetings, and daily pre‑shift meetings.
    • Train staff in all required cleaning procedures, equipment usage, chemical safety, and departmental expectations.
    • Act as a coaching partner for new team members to ensure a successful onboarding experience and transition to full productivity.
    • Help prepare work schedules and adjust staffing levels to meet operational needs and business volumes.
    • Monitor payroll, attendance records, and overtime; report discrepancies as needed.
    • Ensure supervisors receive up‑to‑date lists of required supplies and equipment; verify that all equipment is cleaned, maintained, and properly stored.
    • Assist with interviewing, selecting, and onboarding new EVS team members.
    • Conduct continuous visual inspections of casino areas, hotel public spaces, F&B outlets, streetscape, and administrative offices; identify and communicate deficiencies for corrective action.
    • Support the maintenance of cleaning supply inventories, including issuance of inventory and preparation of requisitions.
    • Arrange or coordinate repairs of cleaning equipment and support the preventive maintenance program for all public areas.
    • Partner with Engineering to ensure timely communication and resolution of maintenance issues.
    • Ensure proper chemical handling, dilution, storage, and safety procedures are followed at all times.
    • Maintain compliance with OSHA standards, company policies, and Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations.
    • Support cost‑control efforts and assist in meeting departmental budget targets.
    • Provide hands‑on cleaning support during peak periods, staff shortages, or special situations.
    • Maintain superior guest service standards and resolve guest concerns related to assigned areas.
    • Uphold established corporate cleaning standards and ensure adherence to assigned cleaning schedules and projects.
    • Perform related duties as assigned by management.
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
    • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in Environmental Services, custodial operations, or a similar field.
    • Experience working in a large‑scale cleaning operation strongly preferred.
    • Excellent oral, written, and computer communication skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and sound judgment/decision‑making skills.
    • Flexibility with schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
    • Ability to work in a smoke‑filled environment.
    • May perform duties of supervisors and staff as required.
    • Must qualify for and maintain licensure as required by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board.
    • Knowledge of Responsible Gaming Program standards preferred.
