    JOB SUMMARY:

    The role of Security Officer exists to protect people and property and ensure we provide an engaging, yet professional, first impression as we report and respond to all safety/security issues, concerns, and emergency situations. To enforce security procedures at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and achieve our vision of a safe and secure environment for all while always protecting the assets of the resort, guests and team members.

    SUMMARY OF MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Patrol front of house and back of house hotel areas, reporting any safety or security hazards, illegal or unacceptable behavior, or suspicious persons to Security/hotel management for direction and resolution. • Act as an ambassador of the resort by being visible and available to guests and hosts, always in a courteous and professional manner. • Ensures secure premises by thoroughly checking all floors, stairwells, exit doors, storage areas, critical access areas, fire and safety equipment, parking lots, swimming pools, etc., in accordance with security checklist. • Document all assigned rounds. • Document all security related issues and assistance provided in appropriate Security reports. • Complete incident reports on guest/host accidents, incidents, reports of theft. • Assist in the investigation of all incidents and submit all daily reports in accordance with Safety Security Manual. • Assist guests with guest room lock outs. • Responds to and resolves reported noise complaints. • Monitor CCTV cameras, radio communications, and Fire Control Systems. • Inspects all packages entering and exiting through resort host entrance, denies access to or removal of unauthorized materials. • Verify that all materials leaving the hotel are accompanied by a completed, signed package removal pass, confiscates and turns over to management, all materials not properly authorized. • Assist in random bag and locker inspections. • Log, store, and return lost and found items in accordance with hotel policies. • Enforce hotel rules/regulations in accordance with Host Manual and resort policy. • Monitor and ensure employee compliance to hotel key control policies. • Maintain a visitor sign-in/out log and issue temporary passes to visitors/vendors. • Completely understand and be able to perform hotel emergency procedures. • Know and perform both Security office and patrol procedures. • Documents all after hour storeroom entries, reason for entry, ensures proper requisition obtained for all items removed. • Provide first responder assistance in the event of a guest or host accident or injury. • May operate Hotel vehicles. • Ensures that all parts of the facility are secured and locked at their scheduled times, fire extinguishers have been inspected and are working properly, fire doors are cleared, and parking regulations are maintained.

    Required Experience

    EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to cope with situations firmly, courteously, tactfully, and with respect for the rights of others. • At least one year of experience working successfully in a similar role. Preference will be given to candidates with prior Law Enforcement or Security related experience. • Must be able to meet the qualifications to be certified as a Security Officer by the State of Tennessee, licensed by the Department of Commerce & Insurance Private Protection Services as prescribed by the Tennessee Code Annotated 62-35 Act of 1922 (See attachments TCA 62-35-116, TCA 62-35-17) • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age. • Ability to develop skill in the use and care of firearms. • Must possess valid Tennessee driver’s license and have state required auto insurance. • First Aid and C.P.R. certification required or ability to obtain a certification in a timely manner. • Must be willing and able to pass First Responder Course and apply material when needed at the Resort. • Must be able to meet the same requirements as a police officer for the State of Tennessee: • Must be a citizen of the United States. • Must have high school diploma or equivalent. • Must pass a background check and drug screen. • Must be able to pass a credit check. • Must not have been convicted of or pleaded guilty to or entered a plea of nolo contendere to any felony charge or to any violation of any federal or state laws or city ordinances relating to force, violence, theft, dishonesty, gambling, liquor and other alcoholic beverages or controlled substances. • Must not have been released or discharged under any other than honorable discharge from any of the armed forces of the United States. • Must have fingerprints on file with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. • Must pass a physical examination by a licensed physician. • Must have good moral character as determined by a thorough investigation conducted by the employing agency; and/or the POST Commission. • Must be certified by a Tennessee Licensed Health Care Provider qualified in the psychiatric or psychological fields as being free from any impairment, as set forth in the current edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) of the American Psychiatric Association at the time of the examination that would, in the professional judgement of the examiner, affect the person’s ability to perform an essential function of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. • Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Applications.
