    As an expert in SAP Materials Management (MM), the mission of this position is to analyze business requirements and identify projects and technologies which will enable significant operational results for the corporation.  The analyst formulates and defines scope and objectives, based on both business needs and a solid understanding of industry requirements and best practices.  In addition, the analyst will function as a project manager to coordinate and facilitate the work of cross-functional company resources assigned to system’s projects.  This position may also assist in routine maintenance for specific modules in the company’s suite of business applications.  This position collaborates with business process owners to foster a positive IT customer relations environment.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    The SAP Business Systems Analyst is responsible for the following functions:

    • Define business systems requirements jointly working with management and professional staff in the organization. Technical solutions must satisfy the business needs for the future, i.e., take into account company growth and customer service objectives.
    • Develop working relationships with a diverse group of business people and gain an understanding of the complex nature of the company’s business. Maintain familiarity with the business plans of the company and the departments serviced.  Remain knowledgeable of information technology and company business operations.
    • Responsible for assisting management in setting priorities within that functional area and work with IT Leadership to communicate with senior management.
    • Instructs, directs, and checks the work of less experienced Business Systems Analysts. Responsible for assembling project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedule to ensure timely completion of projects and meeting deadlines of projects. Familiar with the scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member in order to effectively coordinate the activities of the work team.
    • Allocate resources based upon the magnitude and necessity of the project. Prioritize projects and tasks in order to achieve department and company objectives. Ensures adequate communication is maintained regarding all project status and priorities.
    • Develop detailed system design which supports the system requirements. Conduct technical reviews and walk-through of IT design documentation with development and design team members. Review and critique the technical documentation of other systems to assure quality products.
    • Provide support for designated application systems. Augment and facilitate the design, development, implementation of enhancements to existing business systems.
    • Provide guidance in creating standards, testing procedures, version control, etc. Maintain a professional awareness of tools and techniques that might be used to improve the quality of service.

    • PROJECT MANAGEMENT
    • Ensures all projects are managed in accordance to established GPI IT PMO governance practices
    • Foster cross-functional relationships inter- and intra-departmentally for effective project management
    • Assign projects and track the completion of major milestones
    • Communicate to all stakeholders updates on project status

     

     

    SCOPE:

    • As a staff member within the IT department, this position is responsible for coordinating the application of technology from a systems and end-user (customer) perspective, providing project management, business/technological expertise, and information to IT Leadership and other business leaders within the Company.  This position is expected to manage GPI IT resources plus contractors resources as required for specific projects.  The position is also responsible for budget management for assigned projects.

     

     

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

     

    Background / Experience:

    4-year college degree in general or IT-Related field required.  Equivalent work experience considered.

     

    Specialized or technical knowledge:

    6+ years IT experience including 2-4 years in SAP Material Management.  Experience in both implementation and application support is desired.  General experience should include systems architecture and business processes similar to those at GPI. 

     

    2+ years project management experience

    2+ years experience with configuration and maintenance of SAP Modules

    2+ years experience in a production support role working with Procurement users

    Strong understanding of purchasing master data requirements and structure

    • Material Master Data, info records, source lists, contracts and quota arrangements
    • Material Master Texts types and usage

    Working Knowledge of MM/FI, MM/SD, MM/WM, MM/PM integration

    FI integration

    o    Understanding of the vendor master record, including the accounting side and relationships between vendor masters

    o    Understanding of GR/IR account, quantity tolerances, pricing tolerances

    o    Understanding of payment terms

    o    Understanding of ERS

    Procurement

    o    Contracts, quotas

    o    Pricing

    o    Requisitions and routing through workflow

    o    Release strategies for requisitions

    o    Knowledge of output determination and output medium (email, autofax, EDI)

    o    Knowledge of archiving process is a plus

    Working knowledge of table structures to be able to provide specs to programmers

    Knowledge of SAP Workflow routing and maintenance

    Knowledge of Functional, System, Integration, Unit and Regression testing

    Experience with automated test tools, LSMW, Winshuttle, etc.

    ABAP Query would be a plus

    SAP Hana Experience a plus

    • Work closely with ABAP developers to define programming requirements and test programming solutions
    • Build and execute unit testing, integration and regression testing (build test cases, perform tests, and make changes to configuration or processes based upon results)
    • Focus on building and maintaining quality Master Data
