EMT Location: Barona Resort & Casino Starting Rate: 13.00 Description OBJECTIVE: Reports directly to the EMS Supervisor(s). Responds to emergency and non-emergency medical aides on the casino floor and surrounding property, and staffs company emergency vehicles at special events and other reservation functions. Maintains a good working relationship with Barona Fire Dept. personnel, and provides additional support on medical aides. Maintain a safe and secure environment for guests and staff by patrolling and monitoring premises. This position interacts with all casino departments internally and guests externally. TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside and outside in all types of weather, extreme heat and cold, and temperature changes. Works in confined areas with extreme smoke and noise. Works where there are fumes and odors, dirt and dust. Works with employees and guests who may be infectious. Shall work under direct stress and pressure. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Must be at least 21 years of age High School Diploma or GED Current CA Driver License CA Ambulance Drivers license Medical Examiners Certificate Health Care Provider CPR Card San Diego County EMT-B Good interpersonal communication skills Good verbal and written skills Minimum one year EMT experience REQUIRED EDUCATION: Shall maintain current certifications as required. These include, but may no be limited to the following: San Diego County EMT-B, CPR card, CA Medical Examiners Certificate, CA Ambulance Drivers License and CA Class C Drivers License with clean driving record. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: 1. Shall function well under pressure both individually and as a team member. 2. Shall perform a daily check of assigned emergency care equipment and shall document vehicle stock on appropriate forms. 3. Shall respond to emergency and non-emergency medical aides as directed, and perform the appropriate BLS treatment and care for all ill or injured persons. 4. Shall operate communications equipment as prescribed by company policy, and all applicable ordinances or laws. 5. Shall complete or assist in the completion of a full medical assessment of each patient, under their care, and report such findings on the appropriate documentation. 6. Shall operate all vehicles and equipment in a safe prudent manner and adhere to all company policies or procedures, and applicable ordinances or laws governing such operation 7. Shall comply with all Barona Resort and Casino policies and procedures and all applicable ordinances or laws. 8. Shall conduct daily inspections and clean each assigned ambulance and requisition needed equipment and supplies which will ensure the availability of properly equipped ambulances. 9. Shall perform drug testing for new hires and random drug testing in accordance to Barona Gaming Anti-Drug policy. 10. Shall perform other duties or tasks as directed by Supervisors or Management. Staff members hired into the following positions are considered Mandatory Reporters for purposes of reporting known or suspected child abuse incidents.
