Summer 2019 Teen Intern Description and Qualifications CMAs Teen Internship program provides 10th-12th grade students with an opportunity to support our various fine art and media art programs and to learn from our professionally trained teaching artists. Learn more at http://cmany.org Front Desk Responsibilities: * Taking admissions and maintaining the cash register (PatronManager). * Understanding and operating museum technology, and troubleshooting issues. * Checking in members and groups. * Answer phones and directing calls. * Providing information on daily functions of the museum, as well as neighborhood directions and recommendations. * Gift shop sales. * Customer service. * Helping with administrative tasks including mass mailings and database entry. * Maintaining cleanliness of Museum entrance area Floor Responsibilities: * Greeting visitors and guiding them to age appropriate areas. * Providing information on daily functions of the museum, as well as neighborhood directions and recommendations. * Answering visitor questions regarding museum programming including art exhibits, classes, and outreaches. * Ensuring museum safety, particularly in museum play areas. * Assisting children, parents, and teaching artists in workshops and art-making. * Assisting administrative staff. * Customer service. * Maintaining cleanliness of café, stroller parking, and other museum areas. * Understanding and operating museum technology, and troubleshooting issues. Qualifications * 1 to 2 years experience in a customer service or sales environment * Experience working on a PC * Personable demeanor * Self-directed and works well under minimal supervision * Experience with children and the arts preferable * Ability to handle a fast-paced and sometimes hectic atmosphere * Weekend availability preferred Rate * $13/hour How to Apply To apply, please send your cover letter & resume to Sean at sgilfeather@cmany.org.
