    Role: Business Affairs Corporate Paralegal

    Reporting: VP of Business Development and Legal Affairs 

    Salary: $47,500-$90,000 DOE 

    Start date: November

    Full-Time; Expected to work at least 40 hours a week.

    Create Music Group’s Business Affairs team is expanding! We are looking for a full-time, corporate

    paralegal to join and assist the Business Affairs team with administration, agreement drafting, due

    diligence, terminations, takedowns and conflicts, clearances, coordination between departments, and

    organization of legal information. Must be a self-learner and self-starter. Law firm experience is

    preferred. Training in coding and/or music is advantageous, but not required. Some of the various

    required tasks are listed below.

    • Working closely with our EDM clients
    • Drafting simple forms and letters, and populating documents in the Customer Relationship
    • Management System (“CRM”)
    • Redlining and summarizing comments
    • Managing the material terms in client accounts
    • Closing deals in the CRM and creating abstracts upon execution
    • Sending and saving documents
    • Organizing deal terms, client information, and documents
    • Requesting contracting information from artists, managers, and legal teams
    • Coordinating final deal points with A&Rs
    • Creating and reviewing redlines
    • Tracking projects in various departments, and communicating with various teams across the
    • company
    • Tracking deal negotiations
    • Managing the deal flow and following up on actionable items as needed
    • Coordinating execution of agreements, including sending documents via DocuSign
    • Managing projects within the Business Affairs team
    • Helping maintain and update Business Affairs deal templates including forms in the CRM
    • Helping maintain Business Affairs tools in the CRM
    • Scheduling meetings
    • Reviewing and Tracking termination and takedown requests

    • Computer information systems, including personal computer applications, work processing and
    • spreadsheets

    Essential Elements / Ability to:

    • Possess visual capability and digital dexterity to operate a computer and other standard office equipment
    • Make fine visual distinctions upon proofreading written documents and viewing information on a computer screen
    • Communicate clearly and effectively in person and in writing

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor degree, or equivalent work experience in a field that develops the skills required for the
    • functions and responsibilities of the position
    • Completion of an approved paralegal program
    • Minimum two (2) years’ experience as a paralegal
    • Successful completion of the State Bar validated standard tests for the position
    • Accomplished computer keyboarding skills
    • Experience with Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF (e.g., redlining, redacting, and formatting)
