Job Description

Custom Computer Specialists is seeking a Project Coordinator who can support our Cabling Project Manager on low voltage cabling projects from beginning to end.

The position is based in Hauppauge, LI and may require travel into the five boroughs of New York City on occasion.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• • Support the Program’s Cabling Project Manager on multiple/simultaneous low voltage cabling projects from beginning to end;
    • Assist in defining project scope, goals, processes & procedures, and deliverables that support business processes in collaboration with other Custom and Customer stakeholders;
    • Clearly, concisely and effectively communicate to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion;
    • Liaise with EHI and cabling partners on an ongoing basis
    • Review status reports from cabling partners weekly
    • Facilitate the processing of EHI (Asbestos) testing between our cabling and EHI partners.
    • Generate approved cable vendor work order packages
    • Review all EHI and cable vendor deliverables
    • Evaluate, document, and escalate any cabling related issues to the Cabling Project Manager
    • Ensure services are delivered in accordance to contract requirements
    • Monitoring delivery against Program SLA’s.

QUALIFICATIONS

• • 3+ years of proven prior project coordination experience on multiple/simultaneous IT infrastructure projects that include low voltage structured cabling plant.
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to audit large amounts of data
    • Ability to “turn-on-a-dime” when program priority changes
    • Knowledge of Cisco Switching and Wireless, Communications, MS Platform such as Exchange, Servers, and other backend server infrastructure
    • Knowledge of EIA/TIA cabling standards and installation.
    • Project management delivery tools and best practices – PMBOK or ITIL.
    • Extensive experience using Microsoft Project/Office/Visio 
    • Strong written, oral communications and interpersonal skills
    • Project Management Certification preferred (CAPM or PMP)
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
    • Capable of traveling to and from project sites for attending client, project and site survey meetings in Long Island and the Five Boroughs
