Position Overview Diligent is looking for an undergraduate Legal student to work with our fantastic In-House Legal department during the summer of 2018. This is an exciting Internship opportunity to work for one of the largest B2B Software-as-a-Service companies headquartered in NYC. Our company is growing fast and it is an exciting time to get some experience in our global HQ! The intern will work closely with the Legal and Paralegal team to provide filing and documentation support with respect to client and vendor contracts and corporate/commercial agreements. The team is a fast-paced commercial legal department with a strongly collaborative culture and with a strong sense of support to each other. The environment is hard-working, dynamic AND fun! Key Responsibilities * Assist with contractual document edits and template management * Provide administrative support to legal team * Analyze documents and create a database of any missing and noteworthy information * Offer assistance as necessary for ad-hoc projects * Help define and restructure/reorganize filing systems * Provide post-acquisition filing, administrative and contractual documentation support * Send files to be stored to Iron Mountain document storage. * Scan files and incorporate into our electronic filing system. Required Experience/Skills: * Full-time undergraduate (at least Junior standing)

    • Preferred Field of Study: Law, Legal Services, Corporate Governance * Must be a team player with strong attention to detail and an analytical approach * Interest in software or tech business and in-house legal functions. * Self-starter with excellent organizational, process management and communication skills * Strong interpersonal skills, resourcefulness and a collaborative approach. * Enthusiasm and a sense of humor. * Availability for 8 weeks from early June until mid-August Physical Requirements * Ability to type and/or manage laptop or personal computer keyboard for the purpose of internal and external electronic communication. * Ability to see and hear and communicate verbally Mental Requirements * Ability to understand, remember and oral and/or written instructions or other information * Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions * Ability to make decisions which have moderate to significant impact on the immediate team and division and stakeholders/colleagues and be able to monitor that impact FSLA Status: Intern / Non-Exempt Diligent offers a competitive compensation and benefits package, including health, vision, dental, 401k with a strong match, health club reimbursement and much more.
