    Job Description

    The Project Manager of Architecture is directly responsible for the oversight of the development of commercial interior projects as well as contributing to brand direction and innovation. In this role, we are seeking a highly organized, proactive, hands-on project architect who possesses a sensitivity to design.  This involves an immersion into the brand standards as well as active management of new developments from conception to completion.

    This position reports directly to the Director of Architecture and Planning and requires the ability to work well in a dynamic, fast paced, high growth environment.  The position sits in our Hudson Yards headquarters in New York, New York.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Work with architectural consultants and acquisitions team to establish and evaluate an efficient and strategic program distribution in pre-design phase for new projects
    • Support Acquisition team during the negotiation phase with timely lease exhibit production
    • Coordinate and implement the brand’s Work Letter with the all consultants
    • Manage the design & documentation of “pre-sale” locations
    • Coordinate Equipment layouts, Food & Beverage and retail designs with internal business partners
    • Track and manage scope, budget and schedule sign off procedures for projects. These typically range from 20,000 – 40,000 SF and include tenant improvement work and base building coordination including architecture and infrastructure
    • Manage consultants’ compliance with prototype standards and delivery of on time documents in structured phasing. Typically: Blocking, Schematic, Design Development, Construction Documents and Construction Administration
    • Plan and conduct regular consultant meetings
    • Provide and update project schedules and program charts
    • Assist in resolving construction/design related issues as they arise in the field by providing sketches and expertise
    • Embrace and improve upon Standard Operating Procedures for design process
    • Research materials and direct the selection and allocation of finishes to create aesthetic value in line with brand positioning
    • Assist the senior team with inspiration images, copy and direction
    • Review shop drawings
    • Monitor execution of high touch packages i.e.: millwork to advance the prototypical details in conjunction with feedback from the end-users
    • Liaison with internal departments. Including but not limited to: Operations, Construction, Acquisitions, Finance and Creative (Graphics and Marketing)
    • Partner with Operations and Facilities teams in seeking to understand existing conditions and issues in current clubs, and create conceptual space plans, blocking diagrams, detailed floor plans, and interior elevations that address them.
    • Manage execution of exterior branding packages inclusive of architectural upgrades to building & signage
    • Identify opportunities for the use of new technology and materials
    • Execute various brand initiatives that may include graphic design and / or industrial design
    • Meet with the senior team weekly and prepare reports on progress of projects
    • Communicate and coordinate project progress with internal partners; Club leadership, Operations, Facilities, Construction, Finance, Marketing, etc.
    • Domestic travel is required
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Project Architect with a minimum of 6 years successful track record in the oversight and direct involvement of highly designed commercial interior development (This should also include a years’ worth of experience designing for Retail, hotel or multiuse facilities)
    • Bachelor’s of Architecture degree
    • Fluent in ACAD, Microsoft Office, Illustrator and Photoshop.
    • Must be capable of putting together a tight set of CDs and a proven track record for collaborating across all departments to achieve a successful outcome
    • Able to develop, communicate and successfully implement a management strategy to execute projects
    • Strong technical detailing skills   
    • Proven successful track record in delivering high-end commercial interiors
    • Strong financial, analytical and business acumen.
    • On Site Construction Administration experience
    • Fluency in building, energy and disability codes/requirements
    • Highly developed aesthetic sense combined with the ability to efficiently execute that design
    • Intrinsic understanding of luxury brands, the discerning customer’s desire for refined ambience
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills
