    JOB SUMMARY

    The purpose of the Systems Administrator II job is to function as an experienced IT resource in deploying and supporting the technologies and architectures selected by the VP of Information Technology. The Server Administrator II will also provide the necessary resources to effectively maintain the Windows server based architecture including but not limited to the Windows operating system, SAN storage infrastructure, security infrastructure, virtual infrastructure and various back office products (Microsoft SQL, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Sharepoint, and Commvault).

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

    Provide technical knowledge and function as a server maintenance resource within the server platform support and deployment team.

    Provide tier 2 support for server access and resource issues within a helpdesk environment.

    Effectively carry out the server build standards and ensure quality is maintained based on the definition outlined by the senior IT leaders.

    Provide support for the maintenance and operation of the server infrastructure and the applications housed within the infrastructure to include log auditing, service pack/hotfix application, user account creation and resource management.

    Monitoring and supporting the security related equipment and processes at the Georgia Lottery. Provide support and ongoing maintenance for the Citrix environment and its associated applications.

    Have an understanding of basic server hardware architectures including but not limited to RAID designs, memory configurations, NIC teaming and performance tuning.

    In-depth knowledge of the TCP / IP protocol suite; security architecture; securing and hardening Operations Systems; Networks; Databases; and Applications.

    Experience administering a Microsoft Active Directory environment.

    Experience with cloud and traditional SAN/NAS data storage solutions.

    Maintain and support the Commvault Enterprise backup solution.

    Maintain the printing infrastructure and its associated components.

    Maintain and support the Microsoft Exchange/messaging environment.

    Understand and maintain the VMWare virtual infrastructure deployment at the GLC.

    Maintains web environment by identifying system requirements, installing upgrades, documentation and monitoring system performance.

    Upgrades web system by conferring with vendors and services; and developing, testing, evaluating, and installing enhancements and new software.

    Maintains the integrity of all IT infrastructure; ensuring all are secure, reliable and operating properly.

    Understand and maintain two factor authentication.

    Provide account maintenance functions to support adds, moves and changes of AD accounts and Exchange accounts.

    Updates job knowledge by tracking emerging internet technologies; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; and participating in professional organizations.

    Be able to participate in an on-call rotation schedule for after hours support requirements.

    Provide implementation services when required to meet project demands.

    Maintain assigned projects and ensure timely completion.

    Experience providing superior technical support for end users and clients.

    Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds of materials and supplies.

    Additional desired experience

    Extreme switch configuration and trouble shooting is a plus.

    Solid understanding of routing ad switching principles also a plus.

    Basic understanding of VoIP

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Information/Science or commensurate experience required,

    A minimum of 2 years of documented experience in an IT organization within a networking, desktop, server administration role or pertinent consulting experience. A documented portfolio of leading IT related projects is required.

    Understanding of Network Appliance storage platforms (SnapManager, SnapDrive, and SnapMirror), back office business products (Microsoft AD, Microsoft SQL, Exchange, VMWare, Citrix) and general networking knowledge of Cisco based architectures.

    Security certification preferred.

    Experience with HP Servers, Network Appliance SANs, Ironport, Citrix Access Gateways from a hardware perspective is a plus or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
