Job Summary:

The purpose of this position is to operate the Physical Security Systems including, but not limited to, access control and closed circuit television in order to maintain the safety and security of employees, guests, equipment, and building facilities. Responsibilities include, processing access badges for authorized personnel, providing employee/guest escorts, maintaining records, responding to and testing duress and proximity alarms as well as assisting the Security Technician as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Operates the Physical Security Systems utilizing GLC and vendor applications.

Ensure compliance with physical security regulations, directives, policies, and procedures.

Process and control proximity access badges and identification cards.

Prepare and process written reports such as the following: Blocked Ticket Reports, Daily Activity Reports, and Incident Reports, as well as access/termination requests.

Provide security and other needed assistance at the request of GLC management.

Assist with investigations of violations and misconduct against the GLC and other investigations at the direction of security management.

As necessary, confer with Retailers, Retail Specialists, Investigators, Contractors, Managers, and others to receive and relay information, answer inquiries, and provide assistance.

Monitor physical security systems.

Assist the Security Technician upon request.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

High School diploma (or GED) required, additional training in security, access control systems, computer applications or other related field preferred. Must be able to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds at a time and to work one of three fixed shifts. One or more years of security/law enforcement experience required; excellent written and verbal communication skills a plus, along with good organizational skills and the ability to follow instructions and complete tasks. Working knowledge of Microsoft applications and a valid Georgia driver’s license desired. Any equivalent combination of skills, training and experience that provides the requisite background for this position may be considered.
