    JOB SUMMARY

    The purpose of this job is to administer Georgia Lottery Corporation’s internal collection processes for retailer accounts with outstanding accounts receivable balances.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

    Administers advanced collection efforts with GLC retailers, in accordance with approved GLC policies and procedures, including researching, communicating, and corresponding with retailers regarding outstanding account balances, accounting issues and other problems.

    Performs daily reconciliation, including account adjustments and accounts receivable non-sufficient funds subsidiary ledger postings related to the collection processes and procedures.

    Prepares recurring journal entries and various nonstandard journal entries related to accounts receivable/collections transactions.

    Maintains assigned departmental financial and accounting reports, databases, files, and schedules, following prescribed procedures.

    Coordinates collection activities with GLC Legal Staff, the State Attorney General’s Office, and/or collection firm(s) as necessary.

    Negotiates and implements repayment agreements for aged/delinquent accounts receivable.

    Prepares and assists with daily, weekly and monthly accounts receivable and collections activity reports, as requested.

    Responds to questions, complaints and requests for information by telephone, in person or by mail from retailers, citizens, employees, etc.

    Delivers legal documents in confidential manner for disputes resulting in court cases.

    Archive legal files and tracking monthly attorney records and general receipts.

    Performs other duties as required.

    KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

    Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or other business related field required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel software required. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job may be substituted for required education degree.

    Preferred Experience: One year of accounts receivable and collections experience; database user experience (Microsoft Access, etc.)
