    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Senior Director of Maintenance and Zoological Operations is responsible for the successful operation of all areas related to park maintenance, ride maintenance, park construction and special projects, and zoological operations.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT(S)

    • Manage the daily maintenance of all park facilities, rides and attractions, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, electronic, carpentry, painting, plumbing and sound
    • Audit routine inspections of rides, equipment and facilities to assess their condition and staff work performance, taking corrective actions as appropriate.
    • Develop proactive maintenance plans and delegate assignments.  Follow up and follow through on tasks/projects assigned.
    • Determine priorities for scheduling of preventive maintenance, yearly overhauls, and construction projects.
    • Ensure company property, facilities, rides, and equipment are installed and maintained in a safe, reliable and cost effective manner.
    • Prepare annual operating budgets. Monitor expenses and take appropriate action, if necessary, to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the park.
    • Manage all new construction and capital projects. Complete bid and contract process per company guidelines.
    • Manage personnel, contractors and resources needed to make sure all projects are completed on time and on budget.
    • Research, bid and oversee ordering of materials and/or services involved in maintenance and construction projects.
    • Schedule and coordinate contractors, engineers and architects supplying services and/or materials to ensure completion of maintenance and construction projects on time and within budget.
    • Coordinate details of construction projects with appropriate director and/or manager.
    • Perform related administrative, supervisory and technical duties as required.
    • Ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and standards of quality and safety.
    • Ensure the assigned divisions comply with all regulatory requirements.
    • Supervise and review the work of subordinate management staff.
    • Direct employee performance through training, coaching, counseling, and performance management.
    • Communicate with ride manufacturers to resolve difficulties and to ensure the safest possible operation and maintenance of rides. Communicate with Corporate team on all relevant ride related issues.
    • Interface with various governmental agencies on a routine basis to ensure compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations.
    • Ensure employee safety by working within and enforcing all OSHA requirements and other applicable safety laws.
    • Oversee the animal husbandry operation, to include both short term plans and long term vision.
    • Ensure that all animal areas, to include exhibits and holding areas, are maintained in compliance with all applicable regulations and laws.
    • Ensure that all appropriate records are kept for all husbandry, training and water testing activities including daily care, animal health, acquisition/disposition and mortalities. 
    • Maintain USDA and company standards of sanitation in exhibits, holding areas and public areas in and around the exhibits. Inspect exhibits and take necessary action to assure that they are clean and safe
    • Represent the company to guests and other team members in a positive & friendly manner.
    • Maintain a level of professionalism that represents the Wild Adventures brand, and the company’s core values at all times.

    SKILLS & ABILITIES

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE : Bachelor’s Degree or 7 – 10 years experience in industrial technology, maintenance management, engineering, or related field is required.  7-10 years experience in Park Operations and/or Construction and Maintenance Management is required.  Extensive knowledge and understanding of electrical and mechanical maintenance including applicable codes preferred.
