    Graphic Packaging International, LLC headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, is a leading provider of packaging solutions for a wide variety of products to food, beverage and other consumer products companies.  The Company is one of the largest producers of folding cartons and holds a leading market position in coated-unbleached Kraft board and coated-recycled board.  One of its facilities is currently seeking a BUYER. 

    THE POSITION IS LOCATED AT THE FORT SMITH, ARKANSAS PLANT, which is part of the Consumer Products Division producing sheet fed cartons.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Place purchase orders for machines and repair parts as directed within the limits of purchasing authority.

    • Handle departmental inquiries for supplier and product information as well as order status.

    • Manage day to day supplier performance to improve quality, delivery, and lowest total cost of ownership.

    • Supervise delivery schedules and inform persons affected by any late deliveries.

    • Manage supplier performance trends. Review any questionable supplier performance needing improvement or replacement.

    • Create, process and evaluate request for quotes for assigned family of products.

    • Manage supplier selection and negotiate purchases on behalf of the company to receive maximum value.

    • Oversee contract price programs with assigned suppliers. Review any proposed revisions to contracts.

    • Search out, investigate and develop potential alternate suppliers.

    • Take an active roll in the standardization of materials and parts. Proactively supply technology improvements for review.

    • Develop and apply technical knowledge of assigned products to add value into our purchasing functions.

    • Plan the disposition of excess purchase part inventories.

    • Develop full comprehension of manufacturing system's purchasing procedures. Follow purchasing guidelines as established for this location.

    • Work schedule as required to support customer requirements.

    • Perform other diversified duties, as directed, with minimum supervision.

    • Attend the monthly P2P meeting.

    • Work with legal to approve agreements in the GPI approval system.

    MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintain a positive attitude and appearance at all times.

    • Approach guests and offer photo services in a friendly and engaging manner.

    • Arrive on time and ready to work all scheduled shifts, and in accordance with Newport Aquarium uniform and appearance standards.

    • Keep safety as a number one priority at all times while working at Newport Aquarium.

    • Understand policies and procedures relating to the overall functions of the Merchandise department

    • Work with other team members/departments of Newport Aquarium to ensure effective communication is implemented at all times

    • Maintain appropriate guest and team member relations at all times, ensuring guest and team satisfaction, as well as, safety.

    • Delivers high quality images to guests, accurately setting camera settings prior to shooting photos.

    • Ensures assigned photo location is stocked, clean, prepared and organized.

    • Must be self-motivated to work independently, as well as, disciplined and reliable.

    • Must maintain a willingness and ability to learn and perform all job functions, work independently as well as with a team.  

    • Contribute to a work environment that is satisfying, enjoyable and energetic.

    • Responsible for proper cash handling and maintaining PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliance.

    • Demonstrates strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
