    Fall 2018 Interns - Social Media and Museum The Interurban Railway Museum - Plano, TX $12.50 an hour - Internship We are looking for Fall 2018 museum and social media Interns to help us 12-20 hours per week, with both historic preservation projects and with the stewardship of the Interurban Railway Museum. This position will be located at the Interurban Railway Museum in Downtown Plano, Texas (901 E. 15th St.) and is a paid position. Applicants must be enrolled in undergraduate or graduate classes for the Fall 2018 semester, and must be pursuing a relevant degree (history, historic preservation, museum studies, anthropology, or related humanities fields). Spanish language fluency is a plus, but not required. Social media experience is heavily desired, but not required. This is a semester-based, independent contractor position and will run from August 13 to December 21, 2018, with opportunities to extend based upon performance. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: * giving educational and entertaining museum tours to guests and school groups * assisting with social media content creation and management * conducting research and interpretive writing for new exhibits, grants, or publications * assisting with exhibit installation/tear down * assisting Staff with historic preservation projects Applicants must have completed at least 30 hours of college-level courses and must be able to do light physical labor including lifting up to 20lbs and standing for extended periods of time.
