    Spring Internship: Individual & Major Giving Spring Internship: Individual & Major Giving Summary Title: Spring Internship: Individual & Major Giving ID: 1278 Department: Internship Description Objective The Individual & Major Giving Intern will gain hands-on experience of the donor cycle while working alongside staff to support donor outreach and cultivation. Summary The Individual Giving and Major Giving teams are responsible for qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding Shedds leadership donors and maintaining a sustainable annual giving campaign. The Individual Team also works with Membership to identify the next potential group of leadership donors and with the Major Giving team to move them up the donor pipeline. Our Individual & Major Giving intern assists in the facilitation of donor engagement from a data/analytical standpoint, assists in event staffing and planning, and aids in the day-to-day operations of the team. Responsibilities & Duties Demonstrate a commitment to Shedds mission, vision, and values. Coordinate with staff on the development and delivery of cultivation event invitations, appropriate guest lists, tracking event RSVPs, and assisting with follow up stewardship. Partner with staff to develop event briefings on donors to share with senior staff members. Assist with information input and tracking in Tessitura, our donor database. Assist in prospect research and wealth screening of suspected major gift donors and assist gift officers in identifying promising prospects for further outreach and cultivation. Participate in high-level cultivation and stewardship of Shedds existing major donors, including supporting personal outreach and correspondence, tour requests, and other needs that arise. Other projects as assigned. Qualifications Currently enrolled as a junior or senior in an undergraduate program, or a recent graduate. Marketing, communication, or business-related majors are preferred but not required. Students with externally facing leadership roles in a campus organization are preferred. Past experience in a customer service focused position is beneficial. Demonstrated attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel especially). Time Commitment 24 hours a week- minimum. Exact schedule will be based on intern availability.
