    Internship: Development Data and Research Internship: Development Data and Research Summary Title: Internship: Development Data and Research ID: 1252 Department: Internship Description Objective The Development Data and Research intern will learn about the data, research, and reporting needs that make a Development department tick. Summary This intern will focus on supporting the Development Operations, Analytics, and Prospect Development programs. Responsibilities will involve data input and extraction, auditing data use and tools, conducting donor research, and finding data-focused process solutions for a growing fundraising operation. They will gain hands on experience working with fundraisers and our Customer Relationship Management system, Tessitura, to support donor events, enhance fundraiser relationships, and plan for an upcoming capital campaign. Responsibilities & Duties Demonstrate commitment to Shedds vision, mission and values. Partner with Development staff to re-code data, validate information, and update team members on any changes in database use. Ensure historical information is accurately and consistently recorded. Conduct prospect research and wealth screening of suspected major gift donors Assist gift officers with identifying promising prospects for further outreach and cultivation. Data analysis and reporting on fundraising activities for the year, including revenue, engagement, and gift officer activities. Support database re-configuration if timeline allows. Projects May Include Auditing and updating constituent records for members, donors, and trustees Researching prospective Aquarium donors and documenting findings in Tessitura Digitizing historical records Reporting on routine Development needs Creating process documentation and trainings Qualifications Problem-solver who sees the big picture while demonstrating attention to detail. Highly-skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel especially). Enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior in an undergraduate program. Data-focused majors preferred, but not required. Experience in Tessitura CRM highly preferred, but not required. Time Commitment 20 hours a week-minimum within a Monday-Friday schedule; exact days and times flexible.
