  • Responsibilities

    The primary function of the Psychology Intern is to provide clinical services to our patients under the supervision f the attending psychologist. Duties may include evaluation of patients for admission to the Day Treatment Program, completion of diagnostic interviews and assessments, participation in interdisciplinary treatment meetings, creation and monitoring of measurable treatment goals, development of interventions appropriate for a diagnosis, collaboration with other staff in the coordination of care, and the provision of direct patient services.

    Education/Training Requirements:

    • Master degree in psychology or related field required. Must have completed supervised clinical experience. Must be currently enrolled in a doctoral program in psychology and must have completed all relevant didactic and practicum work.
    • Successful completion of graduate-level coursework in child/adolescent psychopathology and psychotherapy is preferred.
    • American Heart Association Healthcare provider CPR certification or American Red Cross Professional Rescue is required within thirty (30) days of date of hire. Annual re-certification is required.
    • Formal training in management of the aggressive patient (SAFE/Self-Defense) is required within sixty (60) days of date of hire. Annual re-certification is required.
    • Must pass pre-employment background and drug screen.
    • Must be fully vaccinated for COVID unless approved for a medical or religious exemption.

    Special Requirements:

    • Must attend a minimum of two (2) hours per week of scheduled, face-to-face individual supervision.
    • Must attend a minimum of four (4) hours per week of learning activities (case conferences involving cases in which the intern has participated, seminars dealing with clinical issues, co-therapy with staff person including discussion, group supervision and individual supervision).
    • Must be capable of interacting effectively with a variety of people as part of the multidisciplinary team.
    • Must attend required educational program and supervisory sessions as directed.
    • Must maintain liability insurance of $1 Million / $3 Million coverage through an independent insurer or graduate school program.
