  • Responsibilities

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Vallen’s Treasury Analyst I  is an individual contributor position responsible for managing and executing all cash flow processes, including but not limited to cash, checks and electronic payments.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Processes multiple check runs for Supplier and Overhead payments in all US and International bank accounts.
    • Executes all wire transfers, ACH, manual checks and daily movement of cash for all US and International bank accounts.
    • Determines currency conversions for payments to international entities.
    • Manage all field requests, through various portal, for checks, cash and cash advances
    • Manages confidential banking information for suppliers and customers.
    • Performs root cause analysis and resolves returned checks and potential duplicate payment scenarios.
    • Manages per diem card process in accordance with state regulations.
    • Monitors and complies with unclaimed property regulations.
    • Documents and keeps all banking processes current.
    • Manages banking relationships for positive pay, check verification, voiding and stop payment of checks.
    • Ensures process controls and maintains relationships with Sonepar Treasury.
    • Researches banking discrepancies and makes recommendations for resolution.
    • Oversees requests for certificates of insurance.
    • Assists accounting with reconciliation of GL accounts.
    • Performs due diligence on all check requests while protecting the company from fraud and theft.
    • Ensures proper signature levels are adhered to and maintained.
    • Works closely with 3rd party audit staff for proper documentation during audits.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

     

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor’s degree in a related field, e.g., Business, Finance, Accounting, coupled with 2+ years work experience in Banking, Treasury/Cash Management, Accounting, or Finance with direct exposure to electronic payments.

    • Basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting practices
    • Demonstration of high attention to detail
    • Ability to multitask without hindering accuracy and timeliness in a fast paced environment with competing demands
    • Self-starter and highly motivated to be able to follow projects through to completion while handling requests and other competing demands that may require immediate attention
    • Excellent communication, organization, planning, and problem solving skills
    • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
