    Graphic Packaging-Visalia manufactures and distributes paper cups and plastic lids for the food service industry and is currently recruiting for the following position.

     

    JOB TITLE:   1ST LID LINE PACKER                                                                                                                                      DEPARTMENT:  LID LINE

    WORK SCHEDULE:  8:00 AM – 4:00PM

    JOB SUMMARY:

     The Lid Line Packer has three main functions; quality control, HACCP, and packing lids into boxes for shipment. Lid line packers will pack plastic lids into sleeves into cardboard boxes per production schedule and specification sheet.  Packers will perform quality inspections for defects as well as inspect lid fit according to quality check sheet.  Packers will maintain housekeeping and keep area organized and ready for incoming shift. Lid line packer may also perform Utility Packer responsibilities/duties such as stocking packing lanes with correctly labeled boxes and plastic sleeves. Packer will assist Lid Line Operators with “changeover” processes which consist of retrieving and relabeling upcoming changeover boxes, cleaning lid lanes of excess debris, clean the back end of the extruder area and the outer areas of the trim press, coordinate the delivery of supplies such as plastic boxes for packing purposes to the packing area.  In addition, complete other work as assigned by supervisor. 

     

    All employees must follow all Graphic Packaging International work rules, code of conduct and safety procedures and policies including wearing personal protective equipment such as steel-toed shoes, hearing protection and safety goggles.

     

    WORK DEVICES/TOOLS consist of the following: Plastic sleeve bundles, taper machines, cardboard boxes, packer stamp, utility knife, gloves, and sleeves

     

    EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • Must be able to stand for long periods of time with scheduled breaks

    • Must be able to lift/carry a 33-gallon trash bag containing test lids

    • Must be able to walk short distances along the lid lane to move lids into place for packing and while packing filled lid sleeves into boxes.

    • Must be able to bend forward approximately 90 degrees to retrieve plastic sleeves from the box below the lid packing line.

    • Must have the ability to work in a high paced and multi-task environment

    • Must be self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision

    • Manufacturing experience of 1-2 years preferred

    • Overtime will be required as necessary including weekends. Graphic Packaging International operates on a 24 hour, 7 day/week basis.

    • Must be able to step up onto a platform approximately two feet in height and walk along the platform to distribute boxes to each station.

  • Qualifications

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Assist/Lead in the delivery of Camp WAVE, including after care as needed
    • Assist/Lead with daily camp activities including behavior management, set up, instruction, clean up and supply inventory
    • Serve as a mentor and leader for Camp WAVE including interns, and Jr counselors and work with them to guarantee program success, organization of schedules, rosters, paper work, and camper safety
    • Follow and adhere to the WAVE Foundation and Newport Aquarium safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe camp experience for all participants, staff, volunteers, and animals
    • Follow and adhere to the WAVE Foundation and Newport Aquarium policies and procedures for proper care, handling and presentation of program animals upon completion of animal handling training to be provided by Education Department staff
    • Operate a variety of audio/visual equipment upon completion of training to be provided by Education Staff
    • Willing to be trained on handling animals for educational programs
    • Communicate and maintain working relationships with counselors, students, guests, staff, supervisors, volunteers, other departments and colleagues in related industries
    • Communicate well in an environment which may include young children, loud noises, large crowds and varying settings (each program is unique and you must be prepared to work with a new environment each time)
    • Perform Herschend Family Entertainment and WAVE Foundation at Newport Aquarium Core Values , Guest Service Accountabilities, Policies and Procedures, and Safety Protocols
