    Graphic Designer Intern (329-022) Tracking Code 329-022 Job Description Reporting to the Graphic Designer, with guidance from the Director of Marketing and Communications (MarComm), the Graphic Design Intern develops internal signage, digital and social advertising needs to inform and drive membership and admissions. Anticipated dates of employment - June 11, 2018 to August 10, 2018. Date may be flexible. Job Responsibilities: Assists in the development of brand campaigns created by the Graphic Designer, integrating digital, social and internal signing strategies Manages the design, fabrication and installation of Zoo-wide graphics. Manages the logistical improvements or replacement of existing signage as needed by partnering with local vendors and printers. Builds and maintains cross-functional relationships. Develops and produces printed material. Partners with the Graphic Designer to develop and install graphics for special exhibit projects as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned in order to achieve the goals and mission of the Zoo. Required Skills Work may include bending, stooping, lifting loads of 50 lbs. and may involve close proximity to animals. Knowledge of graphic production techniques. Can communicate effectively with internal staff, vendors and printers for finalizing event materials Requires excellent organizational skills and time management Ability to work without direct supervision. Ability to work a flexible schedule, which includes some special events. May require working outdoors in all types of weather conditions. Proficient with Macintosh and/or PC graphic programs, including Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. Required Experience Must be proficient in the use of a personal computer, preferably Mac Must be proficient in Adobe, Adobe PhotoShop and Illustrator, and InDesign Must be able to use all basic business equipment such as telephones, copier, fax, etc. Credits toward a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in an art-related field; or one to two (1-2) years in related design field.
