    SALARY: $12.00/hr SCHEDULE: Monday-Sunday;15-20 hours per week START DATE: 04/16/2022 OVERVIEW: 

    Under the supervision of the Food Service Manager, the Outdoor Grill Master position is responsible for food preparations, sanitation, grilling various food and general cleanliness and maintenance of grilling equipment.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Prepare food as directed.
    2. Comply with all requirements of the Health Department and Liquor Control Commission.
    3. Perform all sanitation needs and duties.
    4. Work special events and tournaments as assigned.
    5. Maintain inventory of grilling equipment and supplies.
    6. Demonstrate and support park district customer service standards.
    7. Follow district and departmental safety, personnel, and administrative policies, procedures and ordinances.
    8. Maintain a safety zone around the grill that is free of trip hazards and prohibits patrons from getting too close.
    9. Engage with patrons as they wait for their order or who have questions regarding the menu.

    OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • General cleaning and maintenance of patio and dining areas.
    • Performs job responsibilities of food service sales associate, including food preparation, presentation and sale of food and beverage products.
    • Assist other staff with special duties assigned by Food and Beverage Manager as well as professional staff.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Demonstrate excellent communication skills (i.e., professional ability to attend to customer needs).
    • Ability to address complaints and resolve concerns as needed.

    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Must successfully complete Illinois Safe Food Handling Certification prior to start date and provide a copy of the certification.
    • Prior food service experience is preferred

    SPECIAL CONSIDERATIONS:

    • Requires flexibility of work schedule during high volume work periods.  
    • Work is subject to inside/outside environmental conditions.
    • Requires regular lifting of medium objects weighing up to 40 pounds.
    • Occasional exposure to pesticides and exhaust fumes.
    • Subject to extended periods of standing.
