Housekeeping - PT OdySea Aquarium 3 reviews - Scottsdale, AZ Full-time, Part-time POSITION TITLE: House Keeping Specialist DEPARTMENT: Engineering and Maintenance REPORTS TO: Facility Manager POSITION SUMMARY: As part of the OdySea Aquarium team, the house keeping specialist must lead by example, commit to a strong work ethic, being patient, kind, respectful, forgiving, and honest. Positive communication is expected at all times, maintaining excellent guest service focus at all times. Working cooperatively with all other departments, and team members. Providing a service to the team members and our guests. Emulate the mission and vision of the organization. Emphasizing education and conservation while delivering excellence in the guest experience. This position is responsible for cleaning the interior and exterior of OdySea Aquarium. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: * Sweep and mop floors * Empty all trash containers * Steam clean stains in carpet * High area cleaning, such as dusting duct work, and light fixtures * Clean windows, glass partitions, and mirrors * Dust furniture and fixtures * Clean and service restrooms * Identify and report supply products when low * Apply pesticide to rid grounds of pests such as mosquitos, wasps, ticks, and others * Proficient operation of scissor lifts, pallet jacks, ladders, and fork lifts * Sweep walkway of debris * Must be 18 years or order * All other duties assigned PHYSICAL AND MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS: * Successful completion of a pre-employment drug testing and background investigation. * Allergies related to animals or plants, which might interfere with ability to work, must be controlled by medications or protective equipment. * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions. * The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions * High noise levels in work environment * The employee is required to stand for long periods of time and walk * The employee is frequently required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl * The employee must occasionally lift and or move carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds particularly regarding storage and paper boxes, and transfer of clothing. * Must be able to work weekends, nights and holidays * Must be able to take directional cues directly or indirectly REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: * High school diploma or GED * Minimum 2-year experience with housekeeping services * Must be familiar with OSHA regulations * Fork lift certified * Clean driving record Must exemplify core fundamentals of the Employee Promise, which states: * I am empowered to take ownership of any opportunity to exceed expectations. * I anticipate guest needs and pay attention to the details. * I treat all internal and external customers with respect. * I am on stage!
