Reporting to the Regional Director, the Regional Trainer will be responsible for operational support and training as required for all clubs with special attention to underperforming clubs. This position plays a critical role in maintaining integrity, compliance and standardization for the PE@PF Program inside the Judgement Free Zone®.
Direct reports: Personal Trainers stationed at clubs in your region.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinate and execute initiatives that will foster growth within the Alder PE@PF program including: creating new memberships, retain existing memberships and sustaining PE@PF as an asset to the operations and infrastructure of the company.
Conduct daily club visits to “inspect what you expect”. Have open communication with club managers and work together to deliver PE@PF results through DYOP.
Conduct all interviews for new team members, work closely with club manager and regional team to make hiring decision.
Be primary facilitator of all new hire training and development for trainers in your region. Must facilitate the following deliverables throughout onboarding: completion of Planet Fitness University courses, completion of CPR and Personal Training certifications as well as ensuring all documentation is provided to corporate office.
Facilitate performance management for your team. Work closely with club managers and regional manager to provide regular feedback and coaching as necessary.
Audit KPI’s across region to uncover trends and generate weekly business review. Use trends to identify areas of opportunity that need assistance (e.g. – programming, marketing, personnel) and build out recap of how to drive stronger member participation and employee development.
Have consistent understanding of weekly progress regarding new participants, club retention and black card upgrades from the DYOP (‘design your own program’) initiative.
Work with corporate office to ensure all staff submit necessary certifications; if not received or having difficulty be primary support in understanding the importance of this deliverable to your staff
Communicate with regional managers and regional directors regularly to provide ‘state of the program’ updates. Work with club managers to provide regional team with educated input on what is needed to enhance programs.
Be present at clubs as personal training support when team member is unavailable or on vacation. It is your responsibility to ensure all clubs have regularly running PE@PF programs with minimal interruption.
Conduct bi-weekly calls with other regional trainers and operations team to discuss ideas, performance metrics, team professional development, and future objectives. Find ways to set our brand apart from the competition with our PE@PF program.
Host quarterly training workshops to enhance skill set of team.
Ensure all clubs are using equipment that is safe and compliant. Teach trainers and club staff how to properly use equipment and work with facilities to audit re-equips and/or request new equipment needs within your clubs.
Be knowledgeable of corporate PE@PF initiatives. Ensure consistent delivery of initiatives throughout region.
Other duties as assigned by regional operations team as needed to enhance performance or program.
Qualifications
Must hold current certifications: CPR and Personal Training by approved nationally accredited organization
Minimum 1 year as Planet Fitness trainer
Minimum 3 years experience as fitness trainer
Minimum 2 years experience managing people
Ability to drive business off KPI reporting
Organized, motivated and positive
Proficient in Microsoft word, excel and outlook
Excellent communication skills
Ability to have consistent presence in multi-unit territory
Comprehensive understanding of Planet Fitness and PE@PF protocol
Knowledgeable in our equipment or able to demonstrate ability to learn (e.g. – Life Fitness, Precor, Cybex)
Degree in physical education or exercise science preferred
