Facilities & Equipment Maintenance Technician
Summary Of Position
The Facilities and Equipment Technician is responsible for repairs and maintenance service at the assigned Planet Fitness clubs throughout the assigned region. This includes basic plumbing, basic electrical, flooring repair, dry wall repair, exercise and relaxation equipment repairs. The facilities technician is to ensure maximum up-time of the equipment, as it is essential to member satisfaction and retention. Maintaining world-class and like-new conditions is an expectation that we strive for at all clubs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Perform basic plumbing and electric repairs, drywall patching and touch-up painting as needed, patching rubber flooring as needed, replacing bulbs in high bay lights, basic HVAC maintenance and assist club managers with facility cleaning as needed.
Troubleshoot and maintain relaxation equipment that includes: tanning beds/booths, red light booths and hydro beds.
Troubleshoot and maintain exercise equipment including cardio and strength equipment.
Work independently, manage priorities and take charge as necessary.
Track, complete and update communication on work orders.
Must be capable of effectively handling the physical demands of the job, which can involve lifting 50 lbs., regular bending and lifting, working on 12ft ladders as well as working low to the floor.
Traveling throughout your region (up to 100 miles).
Qualifications/Skills
High school diploma is required, Trade school and/or college degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in construction/handyman field.
Prior mechanical repair experience preferred.
Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, insurance and ability to travel within region.
Ability to present professionally and work in a public setting.
Ability to be clear and concise in all communications.
Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize.
Must be very organized and able to multitask.
