Construction Director/Manager
This position oversees the development, construction, renovation and maintenance of Planet Fit Indy 10’s current and prospective clubs in accordance with company policies, and external regulations and ordinances in order to achieve targeted company goals. This role reports directly to the CEO. Aspects of this role include providing leadership, management and oversight necessary to ensure that the company is adhering to budgets and timelines by overseeing developmental efficiencies and partnering with general contractors in managing the construction process of new clubs as well as remodeled clubs.
This role also entails working with Planet Fitness corporate to ensure clubs are built as required and maintaining/building positive corporate relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Provide overall coordination and management of construction projects. Participate in the planning, development, and construction of clubs aligned with goals, objectives, policies and priorities.
Oversee the work of general contractors on projects; determine scope of project; evaluate project changes and estimated
Ability to compare/contrast bids from multiple contractors/ General
Work within the confinements of a
Survey sites for conditions early in the LOI process to establish budgets and
Work with the P. of Real Estate and outside real estate brokers on evaluating potential new sites.
Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract
Responsible for the measurement and effectiveness of all processes internal and external within the development
Work with management team on the development and implementation of effective growth strategies and processes in order to meet the aggressive growth targets that have been set

Prior supervisory experience is required in order to oversee and manage internal teams as well as vendors, architects, contractors, General Contractors, and other various components required to build a successful, timely business opening.

Education Requirements:
Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Business, or related area
Experience and Other Requirements
Minimum: 10+ years of management experience in construction development for multi-unit organizations.
Private equity backed experience helpful.
Travel
Primary location is Chicagoland Area with 20% to 50% business travel (based on needs of the business).
Frequent travel is required, as needed, to various markets including but not limited to VA, IN, IL, MS, FL, AL and MO.
