Responsibilities: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Always be NICE to fellow staff and players; find every opportunity to offer a friendly smile, wave and greeting • Knowledge of fittings and uses • Basic assembly and soldering and brazing skills up to 4” • Basic knowledge of waste and vent systems • Knowledge of water and gas systems and sizing requirements/limitations • Able to handle basic repairs and troubleshooting (i.e. flush valves, faucets, minor leaks, clogs) • Ability to be trained and learn operations of equipment ( boilers, R.O. systems, lift stations) • Ability to operate basic tools used on a daily basis (snake, threading machine, torch) • Ability to work independently with basic knowledge of plans and layout • Knowledge of the Uniform Plumbing Code • Able to speak with different staff and departments about issues and concerns • Ability to plan, schedule, and layout projects as needed • Ability to delegate and layout other plumbers and apprentices as needed • Ability to read and update aspects of plans (I.E. Architectural, Structural, Kitchen Shop, and Plumbing) • Ability to order parts and equipment needed to complete projects, and/or restock maintenance material Qualifications: MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Ability to follow directions • Experience in using a variety of tools and equipment used in the trade • Ability to make rational and effective decisions on the job • Friendly and courteous personality • Shall obtain injections for Hepatitis B and tetanus REQUIRED EDUCATION: • Requires high school diploma or its equivalent • Enrolled in a trade type school working towards a journeyman’s card REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: • At least 5 years of experience in plumbing Compensation: $28 hourly
