    Job Description

    A Regional Personal Training Manager (RPTM) is responsible for the guidance and coaching of Personal Training Managers (PTMs) andAssistant PTMs in the region. Primary focus is the coaching of PT Department Managers to achieve financial and developmental performance targets. RPTM’s are integral in the development of other PTMs in their ability to perform at or above their plan.

    While RPTMs will support several clubs, they will at times be responsible for leading an individual club’s Personal Training department, like a PTM.

    This role is based in Chicago. Applicants must be based on Chicago or eligible to relocate.

    _ Job Responsibilities_

    Coach to PT Department Managers:

    • Equipped with data, coach PTMs and Assistant PTMs to achieve their monthly and annual financial and developmental department goals
    • Make high-impact visits to assigned clubs within assigned region, facilitating coaching conversations with the PT Department and modelling best practices
    • Facilitate learning and mentorship opportunities for the region’s PT department, arranging conversations that address the most significant performance gaps

    Developing Talent and Business Strategy:

    • Identify and maintain talent pipelines to ensure a steady flow of qualified candidates to grow the PT department
    • Partner with PT Regional Director to progress competencies and skill sets that Coaches or PT Dept Managers may need to improve
    • Partner with the PT Regional Director to inform staff promotions and placements for career growth and development
    • Monitor and analyze employee performance metrics to identify areas for improvement

    Business Leader:

    • Business management of trainers including monthly PDMs, monthly projections, PT calendar management, lead and client communication, and oversight of trainers delivering complimentary services
    • Assess the business monthly and weekly and work with team members in the club
    • Maintain accountability of the team’s business deliverables by setting monthly targets, following up throughout the week, providing feedback and support for progress
    • Collaborate with GMs by leveraging Chalk Talk Guide to direct PT Department Managers execute business deliverables
    • Collaborate with Membership Advisors for PT Sales take overs

    Operational Management:

    • Lead the operational and sales components of New Hire Onboarding
    • PT business and sales coaching for PT team so they can grow a strong business and achieve full-time employment
    • Utilize scheduling tool to create floor schedule and manage the team’s ability to deliver service on the floor
    • Generate PT Sales leads, schedule lead generation activities, and support trainer development to build a successful business
    • Set goals in support of in-club special events and execute the proper follow up post event
    • Support, Produce, and host PT department forum
    • Implement and execute all operational SOPs including administrative duties associated with client outreach and staff accountabilities
    • Support trainers through financial planning as it relates to the compensation plan

    KPI Management:

    • Achieve monthly and annual department financial goals
    • Proactively address business trends in fitness assessment conversions, client attrition and client training frequency
    • Support performance management of all coaches and PT department managers

    Client Relationship Management:

    • Communication with potential leads and all clients
    • Client coverage and sharing across all tiers
    • Management of all client pipelines, inclusive of new members
    • Clearly outline the pipeline responsibilities in partnership with the second Manager on staff (where applicable), and with the oversight of PT senior leadership
    • Scheduling of new member assessments, inclusive of Tier X Assessments (where offered)

    Leader of Team Culture:

    • Collaborate with all departments of the club to achieve interdepartmental synergy
    • Manage optimal staffing targets to meet the needs of the business, which includes the interview and hiring process
    • Behavior and performance management of trainers to maintain a high-quality team to uphold the brand standards and expectations of their role
    • Establish and maintain friendliness and service standards for trainers in their interactions with members and club staff
    • Identify, collaborate, and align on key talent to advance trainer careers (MIT, Tier X, MIs)

    Pay Transparency: $90,000-100,000 annually; additional bonus opportunities.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated successful leadership ability in a fitness setting, with a minimum 3 years as a Personal Training Manager at Equinox
    • Demonstrated understanding of and experience working with PT Managers. At least 1 year of experience as a Manager is preferred
    • Kinesiology/Exercise Science or Sports Management Degree preferred. Must have current CPR, First Aid, and national personal training certification
    • Excellent instructional abilities, with a demonstrated ability to coach others towards achieving company objectives
    • Excellent understanding of financial and performance metrics for the Personal Training department at Equinox
    • Demonstrated ability to hire, direct, and develop top-performing teams, both within and out-of-club
