THE WAREHOUSE PERSON IS RESPONSIBLE FOR PROPER PULLING, DISTRIBUTION, AND DELIVERY OF FOOD PRODUCT AS WELL AS ASSISTING WITH GENERAL DISTRIBUTION CENTER DUTIES, INCLUDING:
- Ensure that all food is labeled and packaged properly for storage in the Distribution Center
- Deliver food to food locations in a safe and timely manner
- Assist with vehicle inspections for daily use
- Prepare food for storage in the Distribution Center or delivery to stores
- Put away food in designated areas of the Distribution Center
- Pull all food from shelves and relocate in Distribution Center
- Assist with loading and unloading trucks for delivery
- Assist with regular audits and inventories of food and assist with correcting discrepancies
- Correctly and accurately complete paperwork in a timely manner
- Check food for quality and accuracy of shipping and packaging, reporting any problems to Lead or Manager immediately
- Check food with the paperwork, documenting and reporting any discrepancies and damages to Lead
- Perform and assist with duties of other Distribution Center positions
- Maintain and perform good lines of communication with the food management team
- Assist in the cleaning and organizational duties of the Distribution Center
- All other duties as assigned
Required Skills
- Must understand, read, write, and speak the English language
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have math skills and be able to accurately add, subtract and multiply, and divide
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, packing slips, operating and maintenance instructions and procedural manuals
- Must be able to pass and maintain ServSafe Certification
- Must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Must be able to maintain good working relationship with coworkers
- Must be able to work days, nights, weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Must have the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
- Must have the ability to apply common sense understanding in order to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- MUST HAVE AND MAINTAIN A VALID GEORGIA STATE ISSUED DRIVER’S LICENSE
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to:
- Talk, hear, taste, and smell.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands or arms.
- Required on a daily basis to use scissors, knives, a calculator, a ruler, a pallet jack, and other tools required to perform the essential duties of the job.
- Frequently required to sit, climb, push, pull, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and to get in and out of a chair multiple times a day.
- Must frequently lift or move up to 50 pounds and climb a step-ladder or step-stool.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to take directional cues directly and indirectly.
Required Experience
- High school diploma or educational equivalent preferred
- Previous warehouse, retail, or inventory experience preferred
