    Content Strategy and Digital Engagement Assistant - on call x 2 Provides administrative, media production, research, editorial & event support for several program areas of the Content Strategy and Digital Engagement division (which includes Interpretive Media, Open Space, Publications, Graphic Design and the Web team). Assists the Heads of Interpretive Media and Community Engagement, and other program staff in that department. Helps support day to day functions of Content Strategy and Digital Engagement and its logistical, administrative and program needs, with an emphasis on the production of resources. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Administrative: Develop, maintain and revise filing and record systems including paper artist research and permissions files, physical media assets and digital assets such as images, audio and video files. Update department database when necessary. Research living artists and artist Estates regarding permission to use footage and images in a variety of Digital Content programs. Compose draft correspondence, resource descriptions and other written materials. Program support: Provide research assistance for the preparation of media resources - tasks may include image research, writing draft descriptions, or other content copy as needed, and audits of artist and artwork files, online resources, library and interview transcripts. Research and secure appropriate permissions for images and other media as needed Assist in production of texts, images, and multimedia for a variety of content platforms, including preparation and conversion of audio, video and image assets, authoring and digital archiving. Participate in quality assurance testing of all deliverables Liaise with other depts. over the production and publishing of materials. Assist in the maintenance of onsite interpretive resources. Provide event support SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Education and Training: College degree strongly preferred, ideally with an emphasis on visual art and culture. Work Experience: Minimum of two years clerical, administrative or office assistant experience, preferably in a museum or similar environment. Writing and editing, or multimedia production experience highly desirable. Skills and Abilities: Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet critical deadlines, and follow up on assignments with a minimum of direction. Keen attention to detail. Strong diplomatic and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relations. Skill in researching, compiling and summarizing a variety of informational materials. Excellent writing and editing skills and the ability to draft correspondence, descriptions, summaries and other copy independently or from brief instructions. Care in handling archival materials and knowledge of record-keeping and filing methods. Experience working with MS Office and Mac OSX environments desirable, including the Filemaker, Excel, FinalCut Pro, Flash, Photoshop, GarageBand, and QuickTime Pro. Familiarity with RSS and Web 2.0 technologies desirable. WORKING CONDITIONS: Schedule: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., with ability to work occasional weekend and evening hours within scope of a regular work week. Physical Demands: Light lifting, walking between separate building facilities (Office Annex and Museum). Special Environmental Factors: Close office setting This is a union position subject to the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement.
