    Intern - Olympic Sculpture Park Programs (Winter Quarter) * Seattle, WA * Internship * Unpaid Internship * Student (College) Share Winter Quarter 2019 Application Due Date: November 1, 2018 Title: Olympic Sculpture Park Programs Unpaid Intern Department/Location: Education and Public Programs, Seattle Art Museum Staff Mentor: Program Coordinator for Art + Environment Learning Objectives: The Public Programs Department seeks an intern to assist with development, administration, and partnerships for the SAM Lights and Winter in the Park programs at the Olympic Sculpture Park in January and February. Winter in the Park are a series of programs designed to activate the park year-round, including family and adult programs focused at the intersection of art and the environment. All winter programs at the Olympic Sculpture Park are free and open to the public. Through this position, the intern will experience the process involved in creating and implementing museum programs, including working with local artists and performers, collaborating with community partners, administrative support, and program execution. Intern Tasks: * Programmatic research and outreach in relation to the permanent collection at the Olympic Sculpture Park. * Coordinate volunteers and help with event set up, tear down, and workflow for SAM Lights and throughout Winter in the Park programs. * Filing, database/website maintenance, and other administrative support. * Expected time commitment: early December 2018-Feb/March 2019, 10-16 hours per week. Office work is flexible within M-F, 9-5 offices hours. Must be able to able to assist with winter programs on the following dates: SAM Lights Thursday December 13; Friday evenings January 25 and February 22; and Saturday mornings 10am-3pm January 12 and February 9. Qualifications: * Strong oral and written communication skills. * Organizational ability with strong coordination skills. * Works well under pressure in a multitasked environment. * Ability to work accurately with close attention to detail. * Ability to work with staff and volunteers in a professional manner on a variety of tasks. * Ability to communicate effectively to staff, volunteers and public. * Basic filing, typing and computer skills. * Ability to ask for help and accept supervision and evaluation of your work. * Abide by the Standards for Museum Volunteers/Interns as outlined in the Volunteer/Intern Packet.
