Merchandise Business Intern Busch Gardens Williamsburg Busch Gardens Williamsburg and Water Country USA is looking for qualified candidates to join the Business Intern Program. Interns selected for this program will have an opportunity to network and gain hands-on industry experience. The objective of our program is to offer interns a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of theme park operation. The requirements of the Business Intern program are as follows: Must be currently pursuing a college degree Commit to working through the 2018 peak operating season (mid May-mid August) Flexible availability (you may be scheduled as early as 6am or as late as midnight and are expected to work nights, weekends and holidays as needed) Excellent human relations and communication skills Display initiative and sound judgment Previous leadership experience is preferred Merchandise Department interns may be responsible for: Ensuring all standard operating procedures are followed including cash handling, inventory management, and loss prevention procedures Ensuring team members are providing World Class Service; recognizing / rewarding above standard behavior, coaching / disciplining those not meeting expectations, resolving immediate guest concerns, investigating and providing recommendations to correct reoccurring guest service issues Touring area of responsibility to identify maintenance related items, communicating immediate concerns and following up on completion, ensuring opening/closing procedures are followed, and maintaining store layout in accordance with facility plan-o-grams Managing in-store promotions and price changes Managing controllable expenses including labor, production supplies, and inventory accounts for assigned locations Managing inventory levels by completing daily stocking tasks; timely receiver verification; communicating max/min adjustments; performing RTVs, inventory adjustments, and other inventory management tasks as needed to maintain inventory integrity Ensuring team member safety Providing team member training Interns will participate in: Weekly seminars held by various departments Park tours with members of the parks leadership team Meetings with the parks senior leadership team Completion of a comprehensive group internship project due at the completion of the program Locations and positions will be based upon applicant qualifications and availability. Leadership positions are limited and promotional opportunities may be available through the summer.
