KDHE participates in E-Verify and will provide the Social Security Administration and, if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security, with information from each new employees Form I-9 to confirm work authorization. Eligibility Professional (K0238782) in the Bureau of Health Care Finance Analyze the initial applications and reviews for the Inmate, Pre-Release, Breast and Cervical Cancer and Tuberculosis Medical programs and supporting documentation provided by the applicants and other entities to determine eligibility for federal and state medical assistance. Investigate the applicant circumstances through the use of available computer systems (Databases, registries, and informational deposits) researching records provided by the applicant and their contacts to provide the information about the household income, resources and expenses upon which the eligibility determination is made. All processing for the above specialized programs will be processed end to end by the State Specialty processing unit including registering the applications, data entry, and determination completion, as well as any needed case maintenance changes. Minimum Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent, six months experience determining Long-Term Care, Elderly and Disabled, or Family Medical eligibility. Education may be substituted for experience as determined relevant by the agency. Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State. Necessary Special Requirements: Minimum Requirement after Transition Period: High school diploma or equivalent, six months experience determining Long-Term Care, Elderly and Disabled, or Family Medical eligibility and has successfully completed KDHE Eligibility Training courses. Preferred Criteria: * Bachelors Degree in any field of study * Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access * Proofreading, editing, attention to detail * Demonstrated analytical skills * Knowledge of Medicaid programs * Ability to manage competing priorities * Experience utilizing computer, imaging and eligibility determination system Salary: $15.75 hourly; can vary depending upon experience and qualifications.
