Position eligible for .30 per hour Maintenance/Trades differential. Standard 40 hour work week scheduled Monday thru Friday, 7:00 am to 3:45 pm. Position Description: Plans, schedules, selects and measures materials for work order completion. Lays out, constructs, repairs and/or fabricates wooden items, such as cabinets, storage and shelving, furniture braces, ect. Installs and repairs door locks and re-keying, Component installation and relocation at facilities associated with office equipment, building signs and parking signs. Requires standard concepts and methods of the carpentry trade, skill in the standard techniques and procedures of the carpentry trade; ability to read and use specifications, and creativity when designing special needs items. Performs periodic maintenance on facilities structures including man doors, overhead doors, hanger doors, facility bi-fold doors, confined space entry equipment, roof maintenance, interior and exterior painting, and systems components as required throughout the base. Inspects facilities for storm and wind damage. Incumbent is part of the Snow Removal Team and will assist in the clearing of snow from roadways, lots and sidewarlds. Maintains snow removal equipment and performs grounds maintenance as needed. Qualifications: Position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and a minimum of one (1) year experience and/or training in rough carpentry and woodworking including the use of related hand and power tools. Must be able to work at heights up to 85 feet, move and lift up to 80 lbs., and exposure to high noise levels and dusty conditions. Must be able to safely operate NG equipment to include: climbing ladders, scaffolds, sissor lifts, and Hi-Reach lifts. Incumbent operates power cutting and boring tools that require special attention. Must have a valid drivers license and ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Security Clearance as a Condition of Employment.
